UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

A substation is
an arrangement of equipment.

The transformer is one part of a substation. Switching, distribution, auxiliary supplies and the enclosure connect it to the rest of the installation.

NINGYI’s prefabricated grid-connection cabin combines a low-voltage cabinet, transformer, ring-main equipment and auxiliary supply in a steel container. Separate primary equipment modules and secondary equipment cabins serve different parts of the project.¹

03 / EQUIPMENT CABINS

Primary & secondary.
A defined equipment role.

The primary module concerns switching, isolation, transformation and protection equipment. The secondary cabin brings secondary equipment together with HVAC, lighting, fire protection and security systems. Their interface schedules connect the two packages.

THE GRID-CONNECTION CABIN

Follow the equipment
through the assembly.

For renewable grid connection, NINGYI’s prefabricated cabin brings together low-voltage collection, the transformer, ring-main equipment and auxiliary supply. The transformer establishes the voltage change; the switching equipment establishes how the assembly connects to the network.¹

Design the interfaces with the assembly: cable entry, transformer connections, control signals and auxiliary supplies all need an owner and a destination. A component schedule beside the single-line diagram makes the package easier to review.

Low-voltage equipment: The connection to the generation or conversion side of the project.
Transformer: The voltage transformation duty and its physical connection arrangement.
Ring-main & auxiliaries: The medium-voltage connection and the support supplies around the assembly.

PRIMARY & SECONDARY EQUIPMENT

Power equipment.
Control environment.

A primary module concerns the main electrical equipment. NINGYI identifies circuit breakers, disconnectors, load switches, transformers, surge arresters and earthing switches within this equipment route.³

A secondary cabin concerns the secondary equipment and its environment. Its scope can bring together HVAC, lighting, fire protection, security and imaging systems. Treat the secondary cabin as a defined equipment package, with its own auxiliary supplies and interface schedule.²

Primary module: Main electrical equipment and its switching, isolation and protection functions.
Secondary cabin: Secondary equipment, controls and the environment that houses them.
Installation access: Operating positions, doors, cable entry and equipment replacement routes.
Thermal environment: Transformer heat, enclosure ventilation, weather and condensation conditions considered together.

BUYER QUESTIONS

The decisions
behind the specification.

What is included in the prefabricated grid-connection cabin?

NINGYI’s cabin arrangement brings together a low-voltage cabinet, transformer, ring-main equipment and auxiliary supply in a steel container. The proposal should itemise the selected components and external interfaces. This allows the package to be assessed alongside the project’s generation equipment and medium-voltage connection.

How is a primary module different from a secondary cabin?

The primary module concerns the main electrical equipment for switching, isolation, transformation and protection. The secondary cabin houses secondary equipment and associated systems such as HVAC, lighting, fire protection and security. Their electrical and control interfaces should be coordinated, while their component schedules remain clear.

What does European-type, Chinese-type or combined transformer tell me?

These names identify equipment arrangements within the range. For a purchasing decision, compare the actual component layout, transformer construction, switching arrangement and operating access. The arrangement drawing and equipment schedule show how the proposed package will fit the project.

Why does the enclosure need its own review?

The enclosure brings weather exposure, ventilation, access and installation interfaces into the equipment design. Transformer heat and the conditions around switching equipment need to be considered together. Include the location, environmental conditions and operating layout in the brief rather than treating the enclosure as an empty outer box.

Which responsibilities should an EPC enquiry separate?

Separate the assembled equipment from foundations, external cables, site earthing, installation and commissioning activities. Name the responsible party at each interface. The technical offer can then describe the assembly, drawings and inspection scope against a project boundary everyone understands.
